Eariler this week everyone in KCLS lost their e-mail accounts.
This includes calendars, old e-mails, archived e-mails, contact lists, etc. Rick have most ofthe stuff backed up in one form but wanted to let you know whatwas going on.
He is ask for 2 things of you:

I was browsing through my information on STAB and I noticed that many people have graduated, or I haven't seen them in months and/or years.
So, if you want to stay on the STAB e-mail list, respond to this e-mail, tell me to keep you on and I will.
On the other hand, if your time with STAB has run it's course, and you want to be removed from this list, let me know that too, and I will remove you from the list.
I think that I will try and purge the e-mail list after October 1st, so that will give people plenty of time to read and respond. Thanks.

I'm buying books next week for the for the Read 3, Get 1 Free program. For
those of you not familiar with this program:
Basically, a person between 12-18 years old reads 3 books, writes 3 thoughtful
reviews about those books, and they get to pick a free book from the selection
we have here. However, I'm running out. So if any of you have suggestions as
to what people between 12 and 18 years would like to own, please let me know.
As I understand it, I can't guarantee that we can find every book requested, as
we are limited to stock on hand. But I will look for the requested titles. Let
me know ASAP. Otherwise, I will just use my best judgment in looking for the
books. And no one wants that. Happy Memorial Day Weekend !!!!

I, viki, have taken over the site. my style of informing you is facts first opinions later kinda deal alite? i add the little useless commentary stuff towards the end ^.~ and stuff in bold is IMPORTANT ... if its not in bold you don't have to read it...
->>an adult version of the teen advisory board!! by city of shoreline something or other... ask risk at ref desk for an application ... the catch is that you have to live in like the shoreline area ... which you should if ur going to this library ???

I just got my list in BWI (and so did you). So I'd like to plan a booklist meeting for Tuesday, February 10th from 4-6pm. Let me know if you can make it and I will sign you up. Pizza and soda will be provided, as always.

Booklist meeting & the booklist process.
Let me know if you asked for a booklist but did not get it.
Also, let me know what you want on your pizza.
Choices of how you review the books:
1) go to amazon.com and find the book.
Double check the author to make sure it is the same one. Look at the editorial reviews (like Publisher's Weekly, VOYA, School Library Journal, Booklist, etc.) and customer reviews to get an idea of the book.
Look at the cover, and, if possible, use the "take a look inside" option.
2) Use databases like Proquest, Infotrac or Books in Print to find the books and look at the reviews there.
3) Go to a bookstore or library and find the book there, leaf through it, look at the cover, look at the back, smell it, etc. to get and idea of the book.
4) Feel free to read the book if you have time [if you are a loser and have nothing better to do ... i'm kidding]
5)The iPac Webcatalog has reviews from Publisher's Weekly of some books if you are in a hurry or just want to try it out.

2) Who would this appeal to and would that group like to read it? So if it is a Star Trek book, would Sci Fi readers like it? etc.
3) Does this book have mass appeal and should I buy it just becasue it is soooo good?
