I went to a YA librarian "retreat" last week and one of our presenters runs a website called Reading Rants: Out of the Ordinary Teen Booklists http://tln.lib.mi.us/~amutch/jen/ . I think it is pretty good. You may want to check it out if you are looking for something to read.
The real reason I'm writing you is that I get to pick from her "Top 10 books of the Year (so far!)" to have added to our collection at no charge to myself. Let me know what you think by next Monday, and I'll send it off to the proper authorities. I've included the link that goes to IPac, the Library's online catalog. Check out the links on the left hand side (in IPac) for journal reviews. And I own at least one copy of each unless there is an asterix in front of them. Thanks heaps. Here is the list:
A Northern Light by Jennifer Donnelly
Friction by E.R. Frank
The Usual Rules by Joyce Maynard
Bloody Jack by L.A. Meyer
*30 Days of Night by Steve Niles
The Interman by Jeff Parker
*The Wee Free Men by Terry Pratchett
33 Snowfish by Adam Rapp
*Deep by Susanna Vance
*Dragon and Thief by Timothy Zahn
